Player of the Night: LeBron James - 40 points, 10 rebounds, 9 assists, 3 blocks, 13-27 FG, 13-15 FT, 1-3 3pt in Cleveland's 99-94 win over the 7-3 Utah Jazz. On a night packed with huge performances (Jason Kidd, Damien Wilkins and Kevin Martin are all notable), LeBron had the best.
Game of the Night: Sonics 126 - Hawks 123. This game had it all: huge games from little-known guys like Damien Wilkins (41 points, 9 rebounds) and stars like Joe Johnson (39 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists), two overtimes, and a spectacular game-winner from rookie sensation Kevin Durant...and when I say spectacular, I mean it.
"Glue Line" of the Night: Baron Davis - 21 points, 4 rebounds, 12 assists, 3 steals, 5 blocks. When was the last time a point guard had five blocks in a game? I'm too lazy to check, but I'm sure it's been a while. Davis' across-the-board stats helped his Golden State Warriors overpower the 5-3 Clippers for their first victory of the season.
Watch Tomorrow: Nets - Heat in New Jersey. With Dwyane Wade back around, the Heat are a much better team-just look at today's near-win over the league-best Boston Celtics. However, Jason Kidd and Richard Jefferson are doing their best to hold down the fort with Vince Carter sidelined (Kidd pulled down 19 boards today), so New Jersey might just put up a fight at home. This will be a classic East-on-East game, so enjoy it.
