Now that my top 10 free agents have been revealed (Part 1, Part 2), it's time to look at some moves that GMs would be smart to make:
Gerald Wallace to Sacramento
The Kings are likely going to lose defensive force Ron Artest, which makes either signing or trading for another small forward a must. If they sign Wallace, the transition will be quite easy: he plays great defense, he'll give them basically the same offensive production, and he's a little younger and less of a head case compared to Ron-Ron. He started out his career in Sac-town, and he'll fit in well if they decide to take him back.
Jason Kapono to Orlando
It's hard to describe just how badly the Magic need a three point shooter, and at the moment there's not one that's more talented than Kapono. He'll fill out the starting lineup, slipping into a shooting guard spot that hasn't seen much talent in recent years.
Mo Williams to Boston
I had to include at least one free agent heading to Boston in this piece, and I would love to see Mo Williams wearing green. He's tough, smart, and can score quite proficiently. His game is a lot like current point guard Rajon Rondo's, which would make him a nice mentor for the young fella (although Williams is pretty young himself).
Darko Milicic to Minnesota
In case you're wondering: Yes, I do believe Kevin Garnett will be traded. I can't really say who I think will land him, but it just seems like the time is now for GM Kevin McHale to acquire some young talent. Darko could become a key piece, along with Corey Brewer and Randy Foye, in a bright future for the Wolves.
Rashard Lewis to Indiana
The Pacers are a team in desperate need of a scorer to accompany Jermaine O'Neal, and they'll be even more desperate if they lose O'Neal in a trade (which is likely). Along with his scoring touch, Lewis could provide some excitement and energy to Indiana, helping them recover from a number of mishaps from recent years.
